Learning a new thing is fun. But so is sharing your WIPs and finishes!

If you’re up for it, share what you’re working on!

= Discord = I’ll be posting a lot in the PixelStitch Discord, and you’re welcome to join me there! You can post in in the #fiber-arts, #hand-embroidery, #cross-stitch #knitting-and-crochet, #beading, or #sewing channels — depending on what you’re making! (Note you’ll need to opt into “Other Crafts” via #role-customization to see the non cross stitch related channels.)

Note that while this server got its start as a cross stitch community, all crafters are welcome! We've got a fair amount of multicrafters happy to see and chat about fiber arts in general!

If you’ve got a crafty discord you already frequent though, I bet they’d like to see your floss adventures too! 🙂

= Social Media = You can also share on Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook, etc.
I’ll be using #FlossAdventure over on Instagram mostly.

If you’re a YouTuber, feel free to make videos of your adventures! I’ll be attempting to do some of that myself and would love to see your experiences learning something new as well.

Also, tell your friends about the challenge! The more people learning new crafts together, the more fun we can have as a community. :)

= Why Share? =

Sometimes we just need some encouragement such as seeing other learning the same thing as you and having the same struggles, or to have someone comment on your WIP how excited they are to see it finished. That’s part of the fun of social media! Not tying your self worth or artistic ability to number of likes: that’s something to avoid. But instead focus on connecting with fellow humans with similar interests and encouraging each other to keep doing that thing you’re doing!

Or maybe you need some advice on your new craft that someone else has already figured out. Ask questions! Even if we don’t know the answers many of us are happy to help you figure it out or look up information about it online.

You can even just gain inspiration from seeing the creative things others are doing with the same or similar crafts. Not sure which craft you want to try next? Browse what others are doing and get those creative juices flowing!

= Sharing Resources =

Speaking of sharing, I encourage you to share online tutorials and free patterns that you’ve found as well.

My list is not all encompassing and there’s a lot of overlap. If you explore a craft and find additional resources that you found helpful, share them! Feel free to tag me on Discord or DM me on Instagram @sirithre so I can add them to this list!

Or maybe you found some resources for one of the crafts on the Additional Craft Ideas and want to share, that’s cool too! And of course share entirely new floss-related crafts as well. If you know of a craft that uses embroidery that I didn’t list, let me know as well. I’ll add them and maybe expand on the main list for the future. Whatever that may hold. 🙂

Feel free to use these teaser images. Though I will note I don’t own any of the photos and all credit should go to their respective authors linked in the individual craft sections.
