As crafters we often have large amounts of embroidery floss in our stash. Sometimes we accumulate threads we don’t know what to do with, such as:

• Threads from some random brand that may not be of the same quality as what we typically work with.
• Threads that have lost their label and we’re not sure what they even are.
• Threads left over from kits.
• Threads that we hoard for ‘just the right project’ like metallic or variegated threads.
• Threads that were gifted and/or are not the thread we normally use, like perlé cotton or tapestry wools.

The idea here is to find a new use for those random threads, and learn a new craft in the process! I’ve collected over 30 craft ideas and embroidery techniques to make use of your random embroidery thread with.
